Financial Assistance

STUDENT FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS
Students who wish to utilize federal and state funding to assist with their college expenses are encouraged to apply through the financial assistance office.

Applications are available from the financial assistance office. Career Technical College is authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to award Federal financial aid in the form of student grants and student loans.

GRANT PROGRAMS
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides Federal grants to students who show a calculated financial need.

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) provides Federal grants to students who show an exceptional calculated financial need.

The College is also approved for the training of veterans and vocational rehabilitation students.

LOAN PROGRAMS
There are several loan programs available. Loans must be repaid.

Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan
Payments and interest are deferred until six months after the student ceases to be a half-time student or leaves school.

Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
Interest begins immediately; however, students may elect to not pay the interest and instead have it accrue. Payments begin six months after a student ceases to be a half-time student or leaves school.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS
Students may apply for scholarships and/or awards that they have obtained from other sources to help meet the tuition and fee requirements of the College.

Career Technical College Monroe Campus has scholarships available for graduating high school seniors. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit scholarship applications prior to beginning class. There is no financial obligation or cost involved in applying. Applications are available from the Admissions Department. Applicants are eligible for only one of the following awards: CTC Merit Scholarship and Imagine America Scholarship.
